Occupied Space – Art for PalestinePalestine’ was a unique exhibition of over 50 works by artists from Palestine, the UK, Europe and the Arab diaspora, held in Gallery 27 Cork Street, Mayfair, London in May 2006.

The exhibitors ranged from internationally renowned artists such as the Chapman brothers, Antony Gormley, Mona Hatoum, Laila Shawa, Tayseer Barakat, Ahmed Moustafa, Nabil Anani, Suleiman Mansour and Vera Tamari, to up-and-coming young artists producing work of astonishing quality under the challenging conditions in the Occupied Territories.

Outside the Middle East, awareness of the visual arts in Palestine has been overshadowed by media coverage of the geopolitical situation. The exhibition showed that, despite difficulties experienced over many years, Palestinian artists of all generations are producing significant, exciting work in all media.
The artists living outside the Occupied Territories generously donated their work.

Many of the artworks were sold during the exhibition but there are still some for sale. For enquiries and information on prices please contact art@palestinecampaign.org.

Proceeds from the sales go to the exhibiting artists from Palestine and towards funding Palestine Solidarity Campaign projects in the UK to raise awareness of Palestinian human rights.

The exhibition was organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
